Before Your Class

Pottery Studio 1 is a ceramic studio in Los Angeles offering pottery wheel classes, hand-building workshops, pottery painting, date nights, kids classes, and private events for birthdays, bachelorettes, and corporate groups.

Our pottery classes are designed for kids, teens, adults, couples, families, and groups. We offer options for children from age 3 and classes for complete beginners.

Not at all. Around 90% of our guests come without previous pottery experience. Our instructors guide you step by step throughout the class.

We recommend booking in advance, especially for evenings, weekends, date nights, and group events. Available dates and times can be checked through our online booking system.

Wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting a little clay on. We provide aprons, and working with clay is part of the fun.

A typical pottery class lasts around 2 hours and includes instruction, hands-on practice, and guidance from an experienced instructor.

A standard 2-hour pottery class costs $90 per person and includes materials and firing. A pottery + painting option costs $130 per person and includes painting, glazing, and additional firing.

During & After Your Class

You can create a mug, bowl, vase, plate, candle holder, aroma lamp, jar, sculpture, or another ceramic piece based on your own idea or inspiration provided in the studio.

Yes. You can choose your own idea or use examples from the studio for inspiration. Your instructor will help you choose a project that works well for the class.

Yes. Our pottery classes can include both pottery wheel and hand-building techniques, giving you the chance to explore different ways of working with clay.

Yes. Choose our pottery + painting option if you want to add color and details to your ceramic piece. This format includes colored engobes, glazing, and two firings.

Clay, tools, use of the pottery wheel, instructor guidance, and firing of your ceramic piece are included. Painting and glazing are also included when you choose that class format.

After your class, your ceramic piece needs time to dry. We then carefully fire it in our kiln. If your class includes glazing, the piece goes through the additional glazing and firing process.

Finished pottery is usually ready for pickup approximately 2–3 weeks after your class, once the drying and firing process is complete.

Yes. We host private pottery events for birthdays, bachelorette parties, corporate team building, date nights, family celebrations, and other private groups.
